Husband and wife team Mukesh and Neeta Devji opened Byrite Electricals in Syston in 1990 and have been serving the local community for the 34 years since then.

Mukesh says the business has become "part of the furniture in Syston" and they are still going strong after all this time.

Neeta added: "We have local customers, we had our two kids brought up in the shop as well.

"I can remember the days when even the customers would look after the babies when they were crying while we were serving them! So it's a nice community touch that we have."

Mukesh and Neeta are pleased to get involved in the Shop Charnwood campaign.

"We would like to be part of the campaign as we have been a long time established on the main high street of Syston," said Neeta.

"We would like more people to come to Syston shopping and to tell the community who have joined this growing population more recently to say that we are here, use us, give us business. Online is always there but the shop is here to offer free advice, free help, and be part of the community."
